Our community school is located in the Bryn Mawr Neighborhood and serves a diverse group of 514 Pre-K, and Hi-5 through 5th grade students.
Our school values the highest degrees of individual student learning, and this is supported by our campus facilities. Our school was built in 1996 and is designed to fit the needs of pre-K through 5th grade students. Our Hi-5, Kindergarten, and 1st grade classrooms feature individual student storage cubbies, in-class bathrooms, drinking fountains, and hand washing facilities. While our 2nd-5th grade classrooms are large, with breathtaking views of the beautiful Theodore Wirth Park, this is adjacent to the perimeter of our school. Our playground has a variety of large motor equipment for balancing, climbing, sliding, and swinging activities and large play and field areas for soccer and touch football, as well as hard surfaces for basketball, hop scotch, jump ropes and ball play.
The Media Center features a variety of children's literature geared for our age students, a reading room, and is where our students receive a superior instructional curriculum in 21 century skills. The technology curriculum is also supported by 2 Mac Computer labs, iPad carts for classroom use, and interactive white boards in all of our classrooms.
Our gymnasium features a full-size, well-lit, activity space that is shared by community for a wide array of events for families and students. Our students health and fitness are reinforced daily with nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks of fruit or vegetables and they are challenged to be physically active.
We have Specialists who teach Art, Vocal/Instrumental Music, Media/Technology, and Physical Education. We offer Hi-5, All-day Kindergarten, English as a Second Language (ESL), and on-site after-school child care through Minneapolis Kids. After-school and summer academics, include Spanish language instruction, reading and math enrichment, and Girls in Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (GEMS) and Guys in Science and Engineering (GISE) robotics knowledge for students ages K-5.
Bryn Mawr teachers, administrators, and support staff are dedicated to the success of all students. We partner with the Bryn Mawr Neighborhood Association (BMNA) to collaborate on building a strong community environment.
