Learning Targets

Learning targets, or goals, are displayed in the classroom to reflect what students are expected to do. They are written using an "I can" so that children know exactly what is expected of them. For example, a learning target in reading might say, "I can respond to a book I read independently". One in math might say, "I can can solve a subtraction story by counting back". A great way to find out what your child is learning is by asking what their learning target was for the class.
